Film: The Times of Harvey Milk

At Burning Books, 420 Connecticut St, Buffalo. The Times of Harvey Milk is a 1984 American documentary film. A true twentieth-century trailblazer, Harvey Milk was an outspoken human rights activist and one of the first openly gay U.S. politicians elected to public office; even after his assassination in 1978, he continues to inspire disenfranchised people around the world. The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival, the New York Film Festival, and then on November 1, 1984 at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco; directed by Rob Epstein, produced by Richard Schmiechen, and narrated by Harvey Fierstein,  the original score is by Mark Isham. The screening, followed by discussion, is hosted by the Buffalo Committee Against State Repression.
